Men and Angels

This week I've been reading Men and Angels by James C. Christensen, and my favorite painting just happens to be the title of the book. The first time I saw Men and Angels it definitely struck a chord with me. (It looked to me like I had wandered into a dark room and interrupted these two characters who were in deep conversation. Or perhaps she is simply watching over him). I love that Christensen blends fantasy elements with religion, women and exotic colors. His art is very elegant, yet is available and understandable to everyone. If you get the chance, I highly recommend the book and the artist. For more of Christensen's work please visit his website: www.jameschristensen.com. Happy viewing!

As you know, we are big fans of Christensen too (he did both the Shakespeare paintings we have hanging up in the living room). And we have a ton of his ornaments too (I really wish they still made them). I've never seen this picture, so thanks for sharing!

I love that painting too and I like a lot of his other stuff. I have missed seeing you. Hopefully we can get together for Grandma's birthday celebration on Saturday. Call me if you didn't get the word, since your dad was out of town.

The woman in the painting reminds me of Michelle Pfieffer (sp?). Very intriguing painting. There can be a lot of stories behind that one! ooooohhh lala! -Suzanne

We love reading comments about Christensen's new book and thank you for the great review. By the way, www.jameschristensen.com is not his website but rather a Greenwich Workshop authorized dealer who sells his fine art prints. You can see video of Christensen, read about the book, and see all his published art at www.greenwichworkshop.com/christensen
