book club takes off

Hello cupcakes! I'm here to announce the launch of my new book club: Sweet Treats! Having been a member of other people's literary groups, I decided to start my own, just for fun. Our first meeting will be at my home on Thursday, March 13th at 7:00 PM. We will be discussing the wildly popular book, Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (in case you've been living under a rock). If you have, or have not read the book, please join us for a lively discussion, and of course some sort of delicious sugary confection. Please e-mail or call me for directions and details. We would love to have you! Sincerely, Cupcake Chowder.

P.S. Please come prepared with ideas for next month's book selection.

You know I'm there. Is this a host provides the house and treats? Or do you want it to be potluck style? Or are you assigining people food to bring? And is it ok to bring Benji or is this an adult time? Lemme know either way.....all that matters is I'm coming!

I'm just doing some dessert-style treats for everyone who comes. You do not need to bring food (unless you want to of course). And no children (unless you are breastfeeding) please!!! This is going to be a night of girls-only fun, so leave the kids at home with a sitter! However, feel free to bring a friend if you want. Thanks!

Am I too old to join? And YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE CAREFUL with my feelings....I PROMISE.

I wish I lived closer so that I could be in your book club. You'll have to let me know what you read and recommend. What were your final thoughts on Atonement? I'm still deciding whether to read it or not. Also, if you want, I'd be happy to let you know what my book club has read. Right now we're reading a Nicholas Sparks book (I'm not a fan of his stuff, but oh well, it's about broadening my horizons, right?) But we have read some stuff that I've really enjoyed and that has led to great discussions. We actually read Persuasion last month (can you guess who hosted that one?) It was so much fun. People had lots of interesting stuff to say and we had good discussions about some of the minor characters too. Interesting.
