Slumdog Millionaire
Don't let the strange title fool you. Slumdog Millionaire is one of the best films I have seen in a very long time. Not only does it have great word-of-mouth buzz, but it was the darling of the Golden Globe Awards, and is now the front-runner for Best Picture at the Oscars. With a total of 10 nominations under it's belt, it is second only to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. But enough about its accolades... The heart of this little film lies in the life story of it's central character Jamal Malik (played by newcomer Dev Patel). Jamal is a contestant on the Indian version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire. An uneducated teenager from the streets of Mumbai, Jamal's life experiences hold the key to each correct answer he gives. As Jamal continues to win, an investigation ensues as to his intellectual credibility. Through a series of flashbacks, we learn of Jamal's often troubled history, and the secrets to his Millionaire success. Beautifully acted, and wonderfully visualized by director Danny Boyle (The Beach), Slumdog Millionaire will re-affirm your belief in people, hope and love. I hope you enjoy this incredible Cinderella story as much as I did. Happy viewing!

Tnanks for the suggestions! -Suzanne
Thanks for the suggestion. I definetely want to see it.
You really should bump Mr. Vice off his rocker at desnews. Your reviews are quite compelling! Looking forward to seeing this.
I will have to rent it. It's on DVD right? Or is it still in theaters?
Yay! Your back! :)
I can't wait to see it, I have heard tons of good things!
Jeff Vice (the Salt Lake City movie critic) gave this film 2 1/2 stars. Honestly! I will never read one of his reviews again!
I totally agree with you. Slumdog Millionaire was the best movie I have seen in the last year if not longer. I loved everything in it from the very realistic characters to the amazing experiences Jamal goes through. If there was ever a movie that I could say I truly laughed and cried in it was this one. I am so glad Warren took me to go see it because I don't think I would have otherwise. What a great movie!
I am now looking forward to this seeing this movie.
