Twilight Trivia

Dearest cupcakes-

Just a little vampire anecdote to see you through until Twilight arrives in theaters on November 21, 2008. Hopefully you will learn something interesting or new about the film! Please feel free to share any trivia you might have stumbled across in the comment section.

  • Actress Kristin Stewart has naturally green eyes. She wears brown contacts in the film because her character Bella has brown eyes.
  • Reshoots for the film were done in September 2008, reuniting cast and crew. Some of the scenes which were re-done: bedroom kissing scene with Edward and Bella, additional footage of Jacob Black, and more footage of the Cullen family back-story. Says Hardwicke of the re-shoot, "It's all just icing on the cake."
  • One newly redone scene features Edward playing Bella's lullaby. During the original shoot, actor and pianist Robert Pattinson improvised his own music; now he is actually playing the song written by composer Carter Burwell.
  • Director Catherine Hardwicke originally asked Pattinson to write the lullaby for the film, but he declined. However, two of Pattinson's songs will still be featured in the film.
  • Henry Cavill was author Stephenie Meyer's first choice to play Edward, but was considered too old to pass as a teenager. Cavill was then offered the role of Carlisle Cullen, but couldn't commit to the project because of his Tudors schedule.
  • Actress Kristen Stewart didn't turn 18 until the middle of the film shoot, which meant that she could only work 5 hours a day. At her birthday celebration, cast and crew brought out a birthday cake that read, "Now you're on nights."
  • All of the actors playing the Cullen family wear topaz colored contacts.
  • According to a July interview by and director Hardwicke, Kristen Stewart was recommended for the role of Bella Swan by her Into the Wild co-star Emile Hirsch.
  • Actor Taylor Lautner had to wear a wig for his role as Native American character Jacob Black.
  • The Cullen family had to learn how to bat left-handed in the baseball scene.
  • British actor Robert Pattinson stated in a recent interview that he had no formal training to perfect his American accent.
And now my personal favorite:
  • To audition for the role of Edward, Robert Pattinson flew from England to director Catherine Hardwicke's home. There, he and Stewart (who had already been cast as Bella) acted out the "Love/Meadow scene" on Hardwicke's own bed.

She also said you were a great reader and I just finshed the first book in the Gemma Doyle Trilogy called "A Great and Terriable Beauty" and I was wondering if you had read it and what were your thoughts???

Again, cute blog! I love to check it to see what your finds are and whats on your reading list for the moment. ~ Tierra
