2009 also brings a new host: Oscar nominated Laura Linney. The season kicks off with the haunting and powerful tale of Tess of the d'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy. Also scheduled for the 2009 line-up are new adaptations of Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights, Jane Austen's Sense & Sensibility (featured from last season - and my personal favorite) as well as four classic Charles Dickens works: Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, Little Dorrit and The Old Curiosity Shop.

My friend told me how fabulous D Ubervilles was.. Is there a way to see it again?? I want to watch it..

I read tess in 12 grade and remember loving it. It has been 20 yrs and I really want to dVR it now. Thanks for the great info.
I love Laura Linney! Can't wait to see the new masterpieces. Thanks for bringing them to my attention- again! Last year would not have been the same without the cute guy from Persuasion :)

I am addicted to PBS Mystery and Masterpiece, etc. I can't see them too much.
