For the love of Rococo

One of my favorite styles began during the 18th century in France. I love watching movies that highlight this period, such as The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Slipper and the Rose and Marie Antoinette (if for nothing else, than to admire the gorgeous costumes, set pieces, and European locations). This era, known as Rococo, has some of the most beautiful and elaborate designs ever conceived. From art to interior decor, fashion to furniture and food, the entire period completely inspires me! I love the soft yellows and pinks, the floral motifs and of course the exquisite dresses worn by the women of the time. Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong age! Enjoy a sampling of my favorite Rococo inspired designs. (Click on image to enlarge).

My dear kindred spirit cousin,
You have pulled me from my depression slump this morning, posting your beautiful pictures.

I have finally found my bed!! Where did you find that picture? Please share!

Love you, Ann

PS: The depressing mood is due to my parents meeting Diane, Mike and Carolyns family at Nati's today! :(

Wow, the dresses are amazing! Can you imagine wearing one? I wonder how much they weigh. And the wigs too! They must have been quite heavy as well.

I own Marie Antoinette. I was just thinking I should pop it in and watch it! Come on over and we'll pop some popcorn. ;)
