If you're anything like me, January-March are hard months to get through. Between the short days and the cold nights, I sometimes feel like a zombie who has been cooped up in the house for far too long. So, the other day I decided to put my little cupcake down for a nap and flex my often neglected creative muscle.
I have this great little book that I picked up for scrapbooking ideas called, Fairytale Things To Make and Do. It's part of the Usborne series, and is filled with all kinds of wonderful projects to make and create with your kids. Some of the activities might be a little hard for younger children to do by themselves. However, if you have some patience, love and scrapbooking supplies, it should be a piece of (cup)cake.
I decided to try the hardest project in the book first (a paper Cinderella), which took me about 1 hour to get it exactly right. (Don't you just love her leopard-print clutch)? With easy-to-follow instructions, and big beautiful pictures, it's hard to go wrong. Best of all, it comes with two pages of matching stickers to help create your fairytale design. This book is perfect for a gloomy day spent indoors. So turn off the TV and create something fun. Happy crafting!
I finally figured out what I was going to do for my scrapbooking group's April page exchange. I went to the store with no clear idea in mind, but when I saw the beautiful rose-pattern paper I just fell in love! I knew I had to incorporate the red blooms somehow, and I began to build the rest of my project from there. I constantly find myself creating more of a romantic or whimsical design when scrapbooking, and I like the idea that my pages don't always have to be symmetrical or perfect looking. I can't wait until my real roses begin to burst in the garden.
These are the pages I put together this month for my scrapbooking groups' February "exchange". Perhaps it's the fact that I've been craving chocolate lately, but I just couldn't resist when I found these cute milk and cookie stickers. I can't wait to see what the other girls will bring Saturday! Also: a very special "Thank You" to my wonderful husband for the new scanner.
With a lot of help and tips from Alli, I put together these party favors for my girlfriend Marie. She is a Shakespeare nut, and I thought the theme and colors would work well for her baby shower (she's having a girl-Sofia). The cute paper and glitter vellum I bought at Roberts (as well as the beautiful brad's which fasten them together). The script is a CK font called "elegant", and it's hard to see, but the lower left hand corner has been embossed (embossing kit came from "Stampin' Up"). It was a lot of fun to see Marie jumping up and down when she finally saw the finished product. These favors could be used as bookmarks or for scrapbooking.
